Washigton.— US president Barack Obama ribbed NASA’s team in charge of robot explorer Curiosity which successfully landed a week ago on Mars, and also joked about it saying to let him know immediately if there’s any contact with Martians.

“If in fact, you do make contact with Martians, please let me know right away”, Obama joked, as he called the scientists at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena. Obama has talked about the importance of the work carried out by scientists, engineers and the whole NASA team for the Curiosity unit, which will explore the red planet for two years, to become a reality.

“Can we be more excited”, said the US president who assured that this effort will surely make a difference in the American spirit.

Obama thanked the team for making this mission possible, for this is symbol of the US commitment with progress and space innovation.
