GUANAJUATO HUMAN RIGHTS OFFICIALS HAVE GIVEN STRONG ADVICE ON ELEVEN ASPECTS REGARDING TWO DIFFERENT CASES

LEÓN, GTO.-Human Rights Officials for the State of Guanajuato have remarked, today April 16th 2014, and listed eleven strong advice points on two particular legal cases for the State Police to examine and reassess, as women and children rights were not yielded during the course in taking action with fast and inefficient procedures.

FIRST CASE, SEXUAL ASSAULT ON A MINOR

On file Expediente 238/13-A , Human Rights Officials pointed out seven strong advices to the Police of the State of Guanajuato, and one more strong advice was remarked to Guanajuato Local Police on the case of two minor females raped by their step father, in which authorities attempted against their human rights by publishing a head note on the “El Universal” journal, stating “Child pregnancy reveals 7 more cases of rape”.

According to the case, aside of the two raped minors, there were two female adults and five more minors sexually abused by their step father in one too many occasions.

SECOND CASE: FEMINICIDE

The following five strong advice listed on file Expediente 275/13-A, also a remark for the State Police of Guanajuato in which it was declared there was violation to human rights on the case of Mrs. Gerardina Aguilar Castro, who legally complained against the authorities of the Sexual Crime and Family Violence specialists and against the judge to the Public Legal Agency number V who aggravated her daughter, once named Laura Patricia Vazquez Aguilar”.

In this particular investigation it was found that public function officials –and who have also been held responsible for restricting legal rights- omitted many details which impeded the possibility for Laura Patricia Vazquez Aguilar from exercising her rights on the case of family violence.

Laura Patricia had accused her husband Miguel Angel Castro of family violence four times to the same judge before she had died killed by him a few months later.
